New Bible Study Series: "His Mission. Our Mission."

Kids Alive International International has released a new Bible Study series about poverty and justice - and how we should follow the example of Christ in being passionately concerned about these issues....

Two thousand years ago, God’s Son entered the world – a world of poverty, oppression, injustice and war. It was a world where hope seemed in desperately short supply.

The Bible consistently calls the people of God to seek justice for those that are oppressed, weak and vulnerable. And when Jesus began His earthly mission, He stated that He had come “to preach good news to the poor....to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.....” (Luke 4:18-19).

Today, the world continues to be marked by injustice, poverty and suffering. And the call of the Bible to reach out to the poor remains unchanged. Jesus’ mission is to be our mission. We are called to be His hands and feet in a hurting world.

Through our new Bible Study series "His Mission. Our Mission", our goal is to explore Jesus’ mission, learn about poverty, justice and compassion, and identify what our response should be, both individually and as the Body of Christ.

The studies can be followed individually, or be used as a basis for group discussion. As you reflect on the Bible passages, read the accompanying notes and consider the questions that are raised, pray and seek God’s will for you. What can you do to “seek justice, encourage the oppressed, defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow”? (Isaiah 1:17)
