Mary and Alison's Run Helps Children in Lebanon!

A recent visitor to our Children's Home in Lebanon was so encouraged by what she saw that she set about raising funds - by running in a ten mile race for the first time in her life!

Mary McLachlan, along with her friend Alison Neate, took part in the Great South Run in Portsmouth on October 28th - and together they raised an amazing sum of well over £2,000!

Mary said: "In September, I visited Lebanon and had the opportunity to spend time at the Dar El Awlad Children’s Home and school. I was very moved by what I saw and so Alison and I decided to raise, through sponsorship, some money towards the cost of electricity for the Home.

Taking part in the run was an incredible experience and although Alison and I were very tired and cold at the end we had a great sense of achievement. And it is great to know that the kids in Lebanon will be warm this winter as a result of the money raised!"

Our Children's Home in Lebanon cares for 30 residential children, and our school on the same campus cares provides a quality education to dozens more vulnerable kids from Beirut. The funds that Mary and Alison have raised will go a long way in ensuring that these kids continue to get the quality of care that they deserve!

Thank you, Mary and Alison, for your fantastic support for our work in Lebanon! It is so appreciated!
