Some of our Partners Visit Kenya!

Two members of staff from the Jersey office of Ernst and Young - which this year has made a major contribution towards the development of our education programmes in Africa - recently visited Kenya to see firsthand the work that is taking place among orphans and vulnerable children.

Maxine Rawlins - who is also a Trustee of Kids Alive International - and James Stuart joined Director Matt Parker in visiting all five Kids Alive Kenya homes. They also saw the work of Hall Mead School, where their donations are being used to enable children in the nearby community to get an education.

James (pictured right) said: "People have been asking me since I returned to the UK if my visit to Kenya was sad or upsetting. Yet what struck me most was that the projects Kids Alive International is involved with are  filled with happy children who have real opportunities to become educated and successful.

It was also a real pleasure to meet the staff that run each of the Children's Homes and I was amazed by the relationships they have with the kids. For children who may not have any parents, these loving and nurturing role models are a real inspiration."
