Helen believes in the power of play!

Helen Beckett is a professional play therapist, giving children the opportunity to process and find healing from their traumatic experiences through their most natural medium: play! Helen is a graduate of Plymouth University and Canterbury Christ Church University.

While she lives in Kent, UK, she has for many years had a God-given desire to work and live in Kenya as a missionary. This calling is now being confirmed and Helen is actively preparing to work with Kids Alive Kenya full-time!

In Kenya, Helen looks forward to working with the current staff team, initially at Karundas, as they together seek to help the children develop a living relationship with God. She considers it a huge privilege to witness and participate in the transformation in the children as they experience the love and care of God in their lives. Helen will also act in an advisory capacity for the national ministry’s safeguarding role, ensuring that the already excellent child protection policies and practices implemented by Kids Alive Kenya are up to date and as effective as possible.

Helen is inspired by the example of George Müller. Throughout his ministry, he showed God’s love to those in need, especially the children in his care. His unquenchable faith in God’s provision, no matter how desperate the situation appeared to be, has been hugely inspirational.

A favourite Scripture: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbour as yourself'. Luke 10:27
