A Letter from our Kenya Director!

Greetings! It gives me great pleasure to be part of the Kids Alive family, knowing that the Lord has found me fit to be His co-worker in rescuing and nurturing children. In the past few months, we have found favour before God and we are grateful for every miracle we have experienced. I want to share a few of these with you!

Last year’s primary school candidates have all joined high school; we thank the Lord for opening the right doors for them. We're also grateful that one of our homes now has a fully stocked library, thanks to a visiting team. Our staff is having trouble each evening sending the children back into their bedrooms after ‘closing time’! The children still ask in disbelief “Are all of these books ours?”  What a joy!

One of our homes just acquired a make-shift office after years of squeezing into one tiny room and working from the corridors of the home. Never mind that it is an old cargo container; today it is fitted with small windows and a door and our home manager, counsellor and a few other staff have a ‘new’ office to serve our children from. We give glory to God!

Our Kids Alive Kenya clinic also ‘expanded’ to have a mobile facility that allowed our medical staff to visit all our homes and examine each of our children in these homes.

Our homes are located far apart from each other so accomplishing this medical programme in a month was commendable. We are confident that the health care of our children is meeting very high medical standards.

Hall Mead School is pleased to have additional bathrooms to serve the 280 children now at the school. Our children are grateful, especially the girls, that the lines of children for the bathrooms aren’t as long as they used to be! Now they have more play time - and class time too!

In another of our homes, our children joined other community children in a Bible weekend challenge where they learned how to study the Word, trust in the Lord and hide His Word in their heart. A 15-year-old girl had this to say after the event: “It is now fashionable to trust in God!” If for no other reason, I am excited to serve these children and lead them to know and trust Jesus Christ all their lives. I thank you for your prayers and financial support in making this possible. God bless you!
